How the Webhooks Pro trial works

How the Webhooks Pro trial works

Every new install of Webhooks Pro starts a 30-day free trial automatically. No credit card. No feature restrictions. The trial is per Atlassian site.

What you get during the trial

Everything. The trial state (EVALUATION) is treated identically to a paid subscription (ACTIVE) by every gate in the app:

  • All webhooks, payload templates, schedules, post-function bindings, settings — fully usable.

  • Outbound deliveries fire normally.

  • The webhook log retains every delivery.

  • HMAC signing, JQL filtering, debounce, retries, auto-disable — all available.

There are no artificial limits on count of webhooks, deliveries per day, or features available. The whole point of the trial is to demonstrate the product without restrictions.

How long it lasts

  • 30 days. This length is set by Atlassian Marketplace policy — vendors cannot change it.

  • Starts the moment Webhooks Pro is first installed on the site.

  • Per Atlassian site (e.g. your-company.atlassian.net). Each site you install on gets its own 30 days.

To check how many days are left, open Webhooks Pro → Settings → About → Subscription. The Days remaining row shows the countdown. A blue banner appears at the top of every Webhooks Pro page; it switches to amber when 7 days or fewer are left.

What happens when the trial ends

Atlassian flips the subscription to inactive. Webhooks Pro then enters a 14-day grace period (state GRACE) where:

  • Outbound deliveries continue — your integrations don't break overnight.

  • Configuration writes are blocked — you can't create or edit webhooks until you renew.

  • An amber banner asks you to start a paid subscription.

After the 14-day grace, the state moves to EXPIRED and outbound deliveries stop. Read access to your configuration and logs remains so you can clean up.

Full state machine is on Subscription states and SEN; the cushion is documented on Grace period and paywall behavior.

Buying during the trial

You can buy at any point during the 30-day trial. Click Buy now in the trial banner or on the Settings → About → Subscription card; both deep-link to the Atlassian Marketplace listing in a new tab.

Buying does not reset or extend the trial — the billing simply takes over from the moment you complete checkout, and your existing webhooks, templates, and logs continue uninterrupted.

After buying

The Subscription card switches to:

  • Status: ACTIVE

  • Type: commerciala

  • Billing: Annual or Monthly (whichever you picked)

  • Next renewal: the date of the next billing event

  • SEN appears with your unique support entitlement number

Atlassian caches license status for up to 5 minutes; if the Subscription card still shows EVALUATION right after buying, click Refresh status on the card to force an immediate re-fetch.

Trial across multiple sites

Each Atlassian site is its own subscription. If your organisation runs acme-eu.atlassian.net, acme-us.atlassian.net, and acme-test.atlassian.net, then each site gets its own 30-day trial when Webhooks Pro is first installed there.

Reusing the same trial across sites is not possible — that's an Atlassian Marketplace constraint, not a Webhooks Pro choice.

Re-installing after a trial ends

If you uninstall during or after a trial and reinstall later, Atlassian's Marketplace policy decides whether you get a fresh trial. In most cases the trial does not restart for the same site that has already used one. If you need an extension to evaluate Webhooks Pro further, contact support@ux-software.com — we can request a Marketplace trial extension on your behalf when there's a real evaluation reason.
